One of the most shocking and complicated Lurdentanian elections occured on the 2nd of September, 2022, with the results being issued fully by the Electoral Commission on the 11th of September. The election saw, for the first time in 7 sittings of the House of Commons, a change in government, marking the end of a 7 termed Katrina-Equity Government and the begining of a complicated NDP-LP-CP coalition government, headed by long term leader of the opposition and now Prime Minister HIH Prince Matthew.

The Equity party, whilst still the significanty dominant party, only secured 3 seats in the House of Commons, loosing the seat of Seaspray to the NDP former member, Sir Lieutenant Martin E. 3 Seats, with the LA support making 4, was not enough to meet the requirement of a 5 seat majority, and so the LP-CP coalition had the opportunity to gain NDP support an ultimately form government.

Equity-NDP relations were sour, and so the NDP happily agreed to the terms of government, marking the end of a long serving Equity Katrina Government.

The new government, composed of a 3 party coalition, controls a simple majority of the 9 seats of the HoC, and a tied Majority in the Senate.

Seaspray

The only seat in the house which flipped in this election was the Seat of Seaspray. Former sitting member Madam Alison E. decided to not contest the seat, and instead contesting the second ticket spot on the senate list, made it so many loyal supporters who voted for her switched this time to the NDP candidate, who had formally served as their member, resulting in the NDP candidate to secure 56% of the vote before preferences and winning the seat outright.

The Senate
"A multi-party mess" as described by some, the Senate resulted in many changes. The Equity Party, LP and CP secured their existing seats of 2, 1 and 1 respectively. The NDP, represented now in both houses, secured the 6th spot on the ticket, with 13 votes and suprisingly the Greens candidate secured the 5th spot on the ticket, with 14 votes. Where these votes came from, considering their three candidates only polled 2 votes each, is unknown, however, somewhere in the constituencies is a Greens goldmine.
