Results of the 2022 General Election

Lurdentanian News Netowrk  This post is exclusive to server members and citizens. One of the most shocking and complicated Lurdentanian elections occured on the 2nd of September, 2022, with the results being issued fully by the Electoral Commission on the 11th of September. The election saw, for the first time in 7 sittings of the House of Commons, a change in government, marking the end of a 7 termed Katrina-Equity Government and the begining of a complicated NDP-LP-CP coalition government, headed by long term leader of the opposition and now Prime Minister HIH Prince Matthew.  The Equity party, whilst still the significanty dominant party, only secured 3 seats in the House of Commons, loosing the seat of Seaspray to the NDP former member, Sir Lieutenant Martin E. 3 Seats, with the LA support making 4, was not enough to meet the requirement of a 5 seat majority, and so the LP-CP coalition had the opportunity to gain NDP support an ultimately form government.  Equity-NDP relations we

Death of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom

On the morning of the Ninth of September, 2022, His Imperial Majesty was informed of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the longest reigning monarch in British History, one who dedicated her life to the success of her people and the success of her country.  His Imperial Majesty immediately entered a zoom call with cabinet members from the interim Katrina VI Government (election occured), and announced a period of national mourning for 3 days, until the 12th of September. Because of this period of Mourning, our Imperial Majesty has commanded the Lurdentanian Electoral Commission to delay the release of the September 2022 election results until the 12th, so that the relative period of mourning could be fully observed. In addition, H.I.M released the following statement: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second was a humble and good-willed servant of the people of the United Kingdom and the commonwealth. Her dedication to country was unwavering and incomparisonable. May she rest in

Election Called

In an announcement to the House of Commons on the 24th of August, 2022, His Imperial Majesty the Emperor delivered a short speech.  " As per the power invested in me as the Emperor and Monarch of the people of the Empire of Lurdentania, I do hereby inform the House that a national election to elect a new term of members and senators shall take place on the 9th of September. Registrations of candidates shall take place on the 26th and shall end on the 2nd of September."  Immediately, the party machines went to work. The approval rating of the Equity Party has been reduced, with recieving 38% in the previous senatorial election and expected to score even lower this election, with polling suggesting as low as 29%. With this decrease comes the emergence of another Centrist party, notably the National Democratic Party who successfully elected their party president, Lieutenant Martin E. to the senate. This time, we can expect a number of new candidates to contest hot seats, like t

Senatorial Election Called! Candidates Confirmed One Day before Polling Day.

In a historical unanimous vote in the House of Commons, the Senate (upper house of the Lurdentanian parliament) was formed. The Senate will seat 5 representatives from a nationwide ballot paper and will be most likely considered an "Easy gateway for politicians who failed in the National Lower House Election".  A Majority in the senate, based off previous election results, is considered unlikely, with the largest party in the previous election only scoring 38.6% of the entire national vote, which would only reach around 2 Senatorial Quotas (with 16.66% being the quota for election).  Candidates in the Senatorial Race Equity Candidates Lord Lieutenant Colonel Lachlan F. Lord Lieutenant Colonel Lachlan F. was elected previously to the House of Commons, before being defeated in the April 2022 election to the Conservative Candidate and respected local noble, Lord Viscount Kevin M. The disappointing result saw the Equity Party loose a former front bench cabinet member. It is like
