Foundation Day and an Election!

 On the Fourth of October 2021, whilst also celebrating the third foundation day of the Empire, citizens will head to the polls to vote for who they want as their next local representative. 

Four parties have registered to contest in this election, these include the Equity Party, the Liberal Party, the Greens Party and the Conservative Party. 

Lurdentania will celebrate its third year of existence on the fourth of October 2021, the third Foundation Day of Lurdentania. On the night of the 3rd of October, citizens met for a foundation day party and dinner which included a meal with many different delicious options from pizza and Steak to Curry and Garlic bread. The night was wrapped up with a game of Kahoot, in which Sir Lieutenant Martin came out victorious, astonishingly beating all the other participants with 18/20 as his final score. The event this year was held at Hunt Point and was attended by nearly 20 different citizens across the nation. 

On Foundation Day, the government will meet for the customary sausage on bread lunch, which will be hosted at the Imperial Palace. Guests attending this exclusive Foundation Day ceremony include Her Grace Prime Minister Katrina, His Imperial Highness Prince Matthew of Terentia (Leader of the Opposition), Members of Parliament and Governors of Territories. 

The Foundation Day Military Parade will also occur on the Fourth, being lead by the 1st Seaspray Regiment in Farmoria. The military parade will be lead by the General Prince Matthew of Terentia and will include Lieutenant Martin E, members of the 1st Seaspray Regiment and Royal Guard troops.

By the end of the day, after experiencing all the wonderful events which will occur throughout the day, the Electoral Commission will be hard at work that night, counting the votes from all the electorates and announcing the future of our nation, and our government for 2022.

  LURDENTANIAN NEWS NETWORK  The army, over the past few days, has seen a significant increase in numbers. Formally, the army had stagnated at 35 personnel, however the High Command last night confirmed the enlistment of 6 new troops. HIM Rory Removed as Speaker, Lord Harrison Elected

In a suprise announcement from the Equity-Leftist Coalition on the 18th of April Parliament Hansard, they announced their intention to field their own candidate for the office of Speaker of the House of Commons, instead of endorsing the long time serving Speaker, HIM Rory I.  This action comes after Government-Opposition relations come to an all time high regards to tension. The Leader of the Opposition called the Government self concerned frauds who had no purpose but to better there own personal endeavours. Further statements came from Conservative Backbencher Lord Viscount Kevin of Lachtoria as he spoke up against the increasingly 'corrupt' actions of the Government.  On the fourth of October 2021, citizens across the nation went to the polling booth to elect the 7th Parliament. The election saw the most hotly contested election in the history of the nation with four different parties contesting a variety of seats with the hope of gaining a majority.  The election saw 9 seats up for grabs for the 4 contesting parties. The Largest Party, the Equity Party, planned to return to Government under the continuation of Prime Minister Katrina's tenure.
