Prepolls Open

 The Lurdentanian Prepolls for the upcoming general election commenced on the 3rd of April, expected to close on the election day. Three days in and a total of four prepoll electronic votes have been submitted and processed by the Electoral Commission of Lurdentania (ECL) with two of the votes from Farmorian citizens and two from Seaspray Citizens. 

These four processed results show a substantial early lead for the Equity Party, where they have gathered 100% of the total submitted votes within Farmoria, supporting its current MP HIH Emma, (DPM), and 50% of the total submitted votes within Seaspray, supporting its current candidate Madam Alison. The remaining 50% of votes from Seaspray have swayed to the National Democratic Party (NDP) giving them a total of 25% of the national vote at this time.

However, celebrations for early leads shouldn't come to quickly as the number of submitted votes so far (in the prepolls) are a mere 4.3% of the actual registered voter base. It is expected that around 90% of voters will vote on the Day, in the polling booths instead of submitting there vote online.

HIM Rory Removed as Speaker, Lord Harrison Elected

In a suprise announcement from the Equity-Leftist Coalition on the 18th of April Parliament Hansard, they announced their intention to field their own candidate for the office of Speaker of the House of Commons, instead of endorsing the long time serving Speaker, HIM Rory I.  This action comes after Government-Opposition relations come to an all time high regards to tension. The Leader of the Opposition called the Government self concerned frauds who had no purpose but to better there own personal endeavours. Further statements came from Conservative Backbencher Lord Viscount Kevin of Lachtoria as he spoke up against the increasingly 'corrupt' actions of the Government. The Greens Scandal

 Multiple weeks ago, after an electoral bordering restructure, the City of Seaspray became its own electorate, formally being merged with the Electorate of Farmoria. The Electorate of Seaspray subsequently underwent a by-election to elect a new MP for the seat. The registration period saw the signing up of three candidates for the seat representing three different parties.  The candidates include (prev.) Lieutenant Mr. Lachlan as the Greens Candidate (and party leader), Madam Alison as the Equity Party Candidate and Mr. Paul P. as the Leftist Alliance candidate.
